Safe For All Wheel Types

Sticky Wheel Gel is our favourite of the Chemical Guys wheel cleaners. It’s safe and easy to use. What makes it different is, as the name suggests, it’s sticky. It clings to the surface so it has longer contact time and can clean better. It can be more difficult to spray as a result — we find flicking the wrist as you spray helps to get a more even spread. For best results, agitate it with a brush like the boar hair brush from Rockcar, and give the chemical time to work. With this wheel cleaner, we normally go around all wheels spraying then agitating, then after some time to work, water blasting it off. It’s not as strong as the Autostolz wheel cleaner — it’s gentle.

Chemical Guys tell us they "formulated Sticky Citrus with all-natural citrus extracts, and without highly-caustic cleaners. Sticky Citrus Gel combines natural cleaners with oxygen generators to clean any wheel type safely and effectively, without any harm to you or the environment. The non-caustic formula cleans and degreases nasty wheels fast, then rinses clean with no spots and no residue!"

Clingy Formula For Minimal Scrubbing

Sticky Citrus clings to wheels and vertical surfaces, suspending road grime, brake dust, oil, and dirt and then lifting it off the wheel safely and gently. Sticky Citrus sticks hard to keep the cleaning power where you need it, without rolling off the surface. Spray Sticky Citrus over filthy wheel parts, and watch as it sticks to the filthiest surfaces for a deeper clean using less product!"

How to use it:

1. Optional: We recommend prewashing the wheels first along with the rest of the car with a snow foam like Autostolz Snow Foam, on a foam cannon like the Rockcar Stealth, or on a normal hose with the Rockcar Foam Gun. Let the snow foam soak for 3–5 minutes, then rinse off. This is optional, but a pre-wash will remove a lot of the loose dirt safely, making cleaning the wheels easier and faster.

2. Spray Chemical Guys Sticky Wheel Gel on the wheels, flicking the wrist to give full coverage. You can also use it to clean tyres, wheel arches, and suspension parts.

3. Agitate with a brush like the Rockcar boar hair brush for best results.

4. Let the wheel cleaner sit and work for 2–5 minutes, without letting it dry on.

Use a range of brushes to agitate and lift dirt and grime. Having a range of brushes helps, as no one gets into every gap. If you are spending a long time cleaning wheels, you need a bigger range of brushes.

Rinse thoroughly with high or normal pressure water — either a water blaster or just a normal garden hose.

Dry with a clean microfiber cloth.

Optional: You can apply a wax or sealant to protect the wheels and make them easier to clean.

Note: Always do a small, subtle test spot before use with this and any chemical.
