Autostolz Wheel Cleaner — Powerful Alkaline (500ml)
Professional-Strength Alkaline Wheel & Tyre Cleaner
Most wheel cleaners are formulated to be safe above all else — which means they're often underpowered for the job. The Autostolz Wheel Cleaner takes a different approach: a high-alkaline, pH 13 formula that delivers genuine cleaning power on brake dust, road grime, tyre browning, old tyre dressings, silicones, wax buildup, grease, and polymer residues.
This is not an everyday maintenance spray. It's a serious cleaning product designed for detailers and enthusiasts who want results.
How It Works
Alkaline chemistry is particularly effective at breaking down the oily, greasy, carbon-based contaminants that accumulate on wheels and tyres — the same contaminants that gentler, neutral-pH cleaners struggle with. At pH 13, the Autostolz Wheel Cleaner cuts through heavy buildup efficiently, without the surface risks associated with acidic wheel cleaners.
The formula is optimised to spray on with a foam that clings to the wheel and tyre surface rather than running off immediately. This dwell time allows the chemistry to work before you rinse — reducing the need for heavy agitation and making the cleaning process faster and more efficient.
What It Cleans
- Brake dust and general road grime
- Tyre browning
- Old tyre dressings and silicone residues
- Wax and polymer buildup
- Grease
Directions
- Ensure the surface is cool to the touch and out of direct sunlight (below 30°C / 86°F).
- Shake the bottle well.
- Spray an even covering over the wheel and tyre.
- Allow time for the product to work — do not let it dry on the surface.
- Rinse off thoroughly with high-pressure water.
- For heavy soiling, agitate with brushes before rinsing.
- Can be diluted 2:1 for lighter maintenance cleaning (2 parts water to 1 part product).
- Always test on a small, inconspicuous area first.
Important Usage Notes
Due to its high alkalinity, this product is suitable for clear-coated and powder-coated wheels only. Do not use on bare or uncoated metal, or uncoated aluminium wheels (such as Alcoa truck wheels). pH 13 is a strong alkaline — wear safety glasses and gloves when using this product.
Why Separate Your Wheel Cleaner From Your Iron Remover?
The Autostolz Wheel Cleaner handles dirt, grime, and organic residues. It does not target embedded iron particles — that requires a dedicated iron remover working through a different chemical reaction. Using the right product for each job gives you better results than a combined formula trying to do both at once. If you're dealing with brake dust contamination or preparing your wheels for protection, pair this with the Autostolz Brake Dust & Iron Remover.
