All Purpose Cleaners (APC)
All-purpose Cleaners are just that, all purpose. Often called APC's in the trade, these are flexible products that are designed to clean multiple surfaces.
A window cleaner will clean glass better, and a fabric cleaner will clean fabric better, a wheel cleaner will clean wheels better and so on. But an All-purpose cleaner can do them all. They are super handy and flexible chemicals, and a staple in any professional detailers line up.
They vary in strength, and the golden rule in car detailing is to use the least aggressive first, and step up aggression as needed.
In order of aggression:
- Nonsense - safe, no colour, no residue, no odor
- All Clean + & ValetPRO All Purpose Cleaner
- Orange Degreaser - be careful.
Beyond this consider a high alkaline wheel cleaner like Autostolz Wheel Cleaner (pH 13)
All Purpose cleaners can be used diluted or in their concentrated form. Always do a subtle test spot first.
