Alcantara and Suede are really nice and soft, they look great, they can also be difficult to keep clean. Both are very absorbent, so they absorb the oils from your skin, and any other dirt and grime. When the suede or Alcantara absorbs sweat and grime the fibers become heavier and lay flat, and you see shiny bits and marks. Racing drivers have used Alcantara steering wheels for years as it gives them better grip due to this absorption of sweat, but while great for the track keeping it looking and feeling great requires some simple and gentle cleaning.
