Whether you're refining paint after a correction stage, removing light swirls and holograms, or chasing the highest possible gloss on soft paint, this combination is designed to deliver exceptional finishing results.

Rather than buying a large range of pads you may never use, this kit gives you more of the pad you actually need. Most polishing jobs require multiple pads as they become loaded with polish residue and heat up during use. Having enough fresh pads available helps maintain a consistent finish and maximise gloss.

Why Four Pads?

Many detailers focus on compounds and polish selection but overlook the importance of pad condition.

As you polish, residue builds up inside the foam and the pad gradually heats up. A hot, loaded finishing pad can reduce gloss, increase hologram risk and make it harder to achieve a consistent finish.

As a rule of thumb, we recommend using approximately one pad per quarter of the vehicle, then swapping to a fresh cool pad. This helps maintain consistent performance and allows the pad to achieve the highest possible finish.

Professional detailers often use even more pads than this, but four pads is an excellent balance between performance, results and value.

About The Autostolz Black Cloud Pad

The Black Cloud is our softest polishing pad and is designed specifically for final finishing work, difficult soft paint systems and situations where maximum gloss is the goal.

Unlike conventional finishing pads, the Black Cloud features a thicker 30mm construction combined with a deep mountain-style face design that gently cushions the paint surface. This helps the pad conform to the paint while maintaining more even pressure across the polishing area.

The pad also features a dual-layer construction with an orange interface layer that helps isolate machine movement and distribute pressure more evenly. Combined with the ultra-soft foam, this helps reduce pressure peaks and creates a more controlled polishing action.

The result is a pad capable of producing outstanding gloss, clarity and finishing performance on even the most difficult paints.

Looking After Your Pads

Polish residue can soak deep into the foam during use. If left inside the pad it can dry, create hard spots and reduce performance.

Clean pads as soon as possible after use using warm water and a dedicated pad cleaner. Use a stiff pad cleaning brush to work residue from the foam and rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear.

Allow pads to dry fully before storage. Stand them upright or place them polishing-face down so water can drain away. Avoid leaving pads sitting on their Velcro backing while wet.

Properly maintained pads will perform better, last longer and save money over time.
