Alcantara and Suede are really nice and soft, they look great, they can also be difficult to keep clean.

Both are very absorbent, so they absorb the oils from your skin, and any other dirt and grime.  When the suede or alcantara absorbs sweat and grime the fibers become heavier and lay flat, and you see shiny bits and marks.  Racing drivers have used Alcantara steering wheels for years as it gives them better grip due to this absorption of sweat, but while great for the track keeping it looking and feeling great requires some simple and gentle cleaning. 

Its actually pretty simple to clean alcantara and suede, you just need to have the right gear, the right technique, be gentle, take your time, and repeat until you are happy with the results.

This kit gives you what you need.  You get a bottle of Autostolz Leather and plastic cleaner (500ml), a Rockcar natural boar hair brush, and a 2 pack of the Rockcar Roadie microfiber cloth.

Spray a very small amount of the Autostolz Leather & Plastic cleaner onto the alcantara or suede, and spay a small amount onto the boar hair brush.  You do not want to spray on too much, as you don't want to saturate the area.  Scrub gently in a small circular motion with the brush, gently agitating the cleaner and opening up the fibers of the surface.  Work in small, tight circles.  The circular motion helps to spread and open up the fibers of the suede or Alcantara.  The Boar hair brush is the right stiffness for this: stiff enough to scrub, but not too stiff that it will break up or damage the fibers of the suede or alcantara.  Agitate for only 20-30 seconds then wipe with one of the clean roadie microfiber cloths (These are made of the same materials used in Alcantara, polyester 70% and polyamide 30%).

Repeat until you are happy with the results, and the suede or Alcantara is clean and soft again.  Its really quite simple, just be gentle, don't get it too wet, go slow and repeat.  

The Autostolz Leather and plastic cleaner can also be used on normal leather and plastic, as well as other materials, so you can use this kit to clean more than just suede and Alcantara, but we do recommend dedicating cloths and brushes to specific tasks or areas to avoid the risk of cross contamination.  Colour coding helps a lot here.

Never use leather conditioner on suede or Alcantara, and don't use a hard brush.  Always do a small subtle test spot somewhere not visible first with any chemical to test, especially suede and Alcantara as materials can differ.  This kit is safe on virtually all but better safe than sorry, please check.
