Adams Complete Wheel Cleaning Kit | Clean Wheels, Tyres & Brake Dust Properly
Why We Built This Kit
People often ask us what the best wheel cleaner is.
The truth is there isn't one product that does everything.
Road grime, tyre browning, old tyre dressings and grease require one type of chemistry. Embedded brake dust and iron contamination require another. Then once everything is clean you need a quality tyre dressing to protect the tyre and get the finish you want.
Many products try to combine multiple jobs into one bottle. We generally find the results are better when each product is allowed to do the job it was designed for.
That's why this kit includes a dedicated wheel cleaner, a dedicated iron remover, a choice of tyre dressing, and the brushes needed to get each product where it needs to go.
This is the wheel cleaning system Adam uses and recommends.
Step 1: Remove Dirt, Grime & Tyre Browning
Start with the Autostolz Wheel Cleaner.
This is one of the strongest wheel cleaners we sell and one of our favourites. Unlike many wheel cleaners that prioritise safety above cleaning ability, this pH 13 alkaline formula delivers genuine cleaning power.
It is designed to remove:
-
Road grime
-
Oily contamination
-
Grease
-
Old tyre dressings
-
Silicone residues
-
Tyre browning
-
General wheel contamination
The clinging foam formula stays where you spray it, giving the chemistry time to work before rinsing.
Important Warning
With great cleaning power comes responsibility.
The Autostolz Wheel Cleaner is a professional-strength alkaline cleaner. It is designed for clear-coated and powder-coated wheels.
Do not use it on:
-
Bare metal
-
Polished aluminium
-
Uncoated aluminium wheels
-
Alcoa-style truck wheels
-
Other uncoated metal surfaces
Always wear gloves and eye protection and never allow the product to dry on the surface.
Used correctly it is extremely effective. Used incorrectly it can damage sensitive surfaces.
Step 2: Remove Embedded Brake Dust & Iron
This is where the Autostolz Brake Dust & Iron Remover comes in.
Many people think brake dust is simply dirt.
It isn't.
Brake dust contains iron particles created when the brake pads and rotors wear during braking. These hot iron particles can embed themselves into wheel finishes and eventually begin to corrode.
A wheel cleaner and an iron remover perform completely different jobs.
The wheel cleaner removes dirt, grease and grime.
The iron remover chemically reacts with embedded iron particles and dissolves them.
When it reacts with iron contamination it turns purple/red, often called "bleeding", showing you that iron is present and being removed.
This is one of our favourite iron removers because it uses cosmetic-grade raw materials rather than the industrial-grade ingredients many competitors use. It still has the familiar sulfur smell that all iron removers have, but it is noticeably less offensive and more pleasant to work with.
We also find it works exceptionally well.
If you're serious about wheel cleaning, an iron remover is one of the most valuable products you can own.
Step 3: Use The Right Brush For The Right Area
Once the chemistry has loosened and dissolved the contamination, the brushes make the job faster and easier.
Most people struggle cleaning wheels because they try to use one brush for everything.
That's like trying to wash your entire car with a toothbrush.
The secret is having the right brush for each area.

Step 4: Protect & Finish The Tyres
A properly cleaned tyre deserves a quality dressing.
This kit includes your choice of Fireball tyre dressing so you can choose the finish you prefer.
Fireball Satin
A natural, factory-fresh appearance with minimal shine.
Fireball Janus
An excellent balance of appearance, durability and water resistance.
Fireball Gloss
A richer, glossier finish for those wanting more visual impact.
Fireball Show Car
Maximum shine and the wet-look finish many show car owners love.
No matter which finish you choose, applying tyre dressing to a properly cleaned tyre will always give a better result and better durability than applying it over old dressings and contamination.
That's why cleaning comes first.
Two Applicators Included
We include two different tyre applicators because each has advantages.
The Rockcar Wave Applicator is larger, making it faster to use. The wave pattern helps work dressing into tyre lettering, grooves and textured sidewalls while spreading the product evenly.
The Fireball Curved Applicator is smaller and shaped to follow the contour of the tyre. Many detailers find it easier to control around tighter areas and tyre shoulders.
Use whichever you prefer, or keep one for tyre dressing and one for trim products.
