Waterless Wash

Waterless washes are a really handy product to have.  The main reasons to use a waterless wash are:

  • You are somewhere like a car show where you don't have a hose
  • To keep in the car for quick cleaning of things like bird poop before it can etch in
  • Cleaning door and boot jams and where you cant (or shouldn't) use a hose
  • When there are water restrictions and Mr. council won't let you wash your car
  • When its winter and you want to wash your car in the garage to keep warm
  • When you want to have a quick wash but safely.

Waterless washes are focused on allowing you to clean safely without water, they have high lubrication to reduce scratch risk.  The cloth used is also important, we recommend the rockcar roadie or Pegasus cloths for waterless washing to reduce scratch risk.

Chemical Guys come from California, the land of water restrictions, so they have a good range of waterless washes.  Chemical Guys Swift wipe is a good safe waterless wash.  Chemical Guys EcoSmart is similar in a concentrated form and works out more economic.  Chemical Guys Rinseless wash is a bit different; you use it in a wash bucket with water as normal, but you don't have to rinse it off. Chemical Guys Hydroglide ads SiO2 as well for more water beading.

ValetPRO have a waterless wash designed specifically for caravans, which is very good there.

Our top waterless wash is Autostolz Waterless Wash with SiO2, which has SiO2 and cleans very well.  This is our pick; we use it not just on our cars but also around the office.  Its just damn handy to have.  Both Adam and Michelle keep a battle in their car with a clean pack of rock car Rodies and a Pegasus cloth for any spot cleaning.  The main use for us though is cleaning the door jams after a wash.  You don't want to be that guy they make memes about using a water blaster these!

We have waterless wash kits that include the right microfiber cloths, we really recommend them, and would encourage you to consider getting even more cloths, it will make it easier and reduce the scratch risk.  Clean them with a proper microfiber cleaner and they will last ages.
