Matt paint is very special, and you want to treat it differently. Most products are designed to make paint shine more and be smoother, which is exactly what you don't want on matt paint, don't ever polish it and only use matt specific products.
the reason you see matte paint as matte is that it is intentionally rough, which makes light bounce off it at different angles. You can't polish matte paint as to do so would make it flat and smooth, and it would then be gloss and shiny, not matte.
this makes it very important to use the right products and to take steps to reduce scratches like using a reef style wash mitt, 2 buckets with mitt slides or dirt traps and a soft deep thread drying towel (we recommend the Performer).
It is safe to use matte wash on gloss surfaces but not the other way around. So if you have a gloss car with matte strips, you can wash the whole car with matte wash.
Don't use dishwashing soap, or aggressive cleaners. If you see a car with whitey faded matte stripes on it, they are probably using dishwashing detergent. the damage is slow and gradual, you'll think its ok till one day you realise it wasn't and then it's too late.
If I had a matte car (I'd like one, they look cool), I'd only use matte wash, with all the above points, and I'd keep a bottle of matte quick detailer and some clean soft roadie cloths in the car so if say a bird craps on the paint/wrap I can safely clean it off wherever I am.
Protecting Matte paint is difficult as product gets into the roughness and it can be hard to buff it off. This also varies from vehicle to vehicle. Jetseal Matte is a great product and what i would put on a matte vehicle, however buffing it off matte paint is much harder than on a gloss surface. this is the reality of the matte surface, not the product. If you are not up to it do not use this product. I'd suggest working in a section at a time, applying a thin coating, waiting no more than 20 minutes, and then taking care to fully buff it all off with a roadie cloth as they grab the best, using the cloth folded flat into 4 and swapping to a fresh side as the side gets clogged. Make sure it is all off before you move on, and to do that make sure you have good lighting. Do a small test spot and make sure you are happy before you proceed. Do not apply it thickly over the whole car and then leave it longer than 30 minutes, or use clothes that don't grab like the roadie, and make sure you use heaps for cloths- or you won't get it all off, and it will cure and then you will have a real hard job getting the rest of as it is designed to stay on, that's what you want it to do. If this happens to you and you are reading this now, wash the car multiple times with clean slate. Cleanslate is in our soap section, it is a wax and sealant stripping soap, but it will take a few washes to get if off if it is fresh.
