Rockcar Performer Large Soft Drying Towel — 1100gsm 70/30 Microfiber — Our Favourite Drying Towel!
1100gsm · 70/30 microfiber blend · Twisted loop microfiber · Our best-selling drying towel
Super absorbent, large & soft drying towel. Most drying towels talk about how fast they dry, but this is the fastest drying towel we have tested! It is amazingly absorbent, but more importantly it does not scratch the surface and has a long, super soft twisted loop weave to avoid dragging any grit or dirt across the paint.
The Rockcar Performer uses a 70/30 blend — 70% polyester and 30% polyamide — and weighs in at 1100gsm. To put that in context, most standard microfiber drying towels are 300–500gsm. The higher gsm means more microfiber strands, more absorbency, and a deeper pile that lifts dirt away from your paint rather than dragging it across. The higher polyamide content gives the towel more softness and absorbency than cheaper 80/20 alternatives, and the twisted loop weave pulls dirt up and away from the paint surface rather than dragging it across.
It is hands down our favourite drying towel, and is seriously impressive. Customers consistently tell us the same thing — once they try it, they don't go back.

The sweet spot for size and weight
The perfect size and weight for maximum scratch-free drying while still being manageable. In our testing we found going larger or heavier made the towel too hard to work with, especially when heavy with absorbed water. We found this size and weight to be the sweet spot of maximum absorbency without being too large or heavy when wet. Though we recommend using a dry cloth for each vehicle for best results, often we were able to dry 2 cars with the same cloth!
Why twisted loop, not flat weave?
The long twisted loops increase surface area and create pockets that grab dirt and pull it away from the paint surface. On a flat weave towel, any remaining grit sits between the towel and your paint. On this towel it gets lifted up into the pile — significantly reducing the risk of micro-scratches during drying.
