The safest car wash is one where you touch the paint as little as possible.

That's the whole idea behind a pre-wash snow foam. Before you bring a wash mitt anywhere near your matte paint or wrap, a good pre-wash gives the chemistry a chance to do the heavy lifting first — loosening and suspending dirt, road film, and contamination so it can be rinsed away without you having to scrub it off.

Every time you drag a mitt across a dirty surface, you risk fine scratches. On gloss paint that's worth managing carefully. On matte paint it's even more important, because matte surfaces show fine scratches more readily and you can't simply polish them out the way you can on gloss.

Snow foam isn't mandatory. But if you care about keeping your matte finish in the best possible condition long term, it's a genuinely worthwhile step.

What it does

Autostolz Matte Snow Foam is a pH-neutral pre-wash foam engineered specifically for matte paint, matte vinyl wraps, and matte PPF. Advanced surfactant chemistry produces a dense, stable foam that clings to the surface and dwells — giving it time to break down and loosen contamination before you rinse or touch the car.

No gloss enhancers. No shine additives. Nothing that will alter the surface texture or create uneven shiny patches on your matte finish. It also won't compromise any protective layers you have in place — ceramic coatings, waxes, and sealants are all safe.

The high lubrication in the foam also helps reduce scratch risk during the rinse stage, giving any remaining particles something to slide off in rather than drag across the surface.

Designed for use with a foam cannon or foam gun for best results. Can also be used as a bucket wash, though a foam cannon or foam gun will give you the full benefit of the cling foam and dwell time.

How it fits into your wash routine

Snow foam is your first step, not your only step. Here's how a complete matte-safe wash looks:

Step 1 — Pre-wash: Apply Matte Snow Foam with a foam cannon or foam gun. Allow 5 minutes dwell time. Rinse off — do not let it dry on the surface.

Step 2 — Contact wash: Follow up with Autostolz Matte Auto Wash in a bucket, foam gun, or foam cannon, using a soft wash mitt and the two-bucket method.

Step 3 — Between washes / on the go: Keep Autostolz Matte Quick Detailer and a Pegasus Cloth in the car for safe spot cleaning whenever it's needed.

Directions

Shake well before use. Add 30–90ml per 1L foam cannon or foam gun (1–3 oz). Can also be used in a bucket wash. Do not rinse the vehicle first. Apply evenly onto the entire vehicle. Allow 5 minutes dwell time before rinsing — do not allow foam to dry on the surface. Rinse off thoroughly. Use on cool surfaces only — surface temperature should not exceed 30°C (86°F). Avoid direct sunlight. Always test on a small, inconspicuous area first. Do not allow to freeze.

For contact washing after pre-wash, follow up with Autostolz Matte Auto Wash.
