Why alkaline — and why this one is different

Alkaline chemistry breaks down oils, traffic film, road contamination, and old protection layers in a way that pH-neutral products simply can't. That's the nature of high-pH cleaning — it's more aggressive, more effective on heavy soiling, and essential for surface preparation before coating application.

Most alkaline strip washes on the market have a problem though. They're typically thin and low-foam, which means they dry quickly, dwell poorly, and give you very little lubrication to work with. That makes them harder to use effectively and increases the risk of scratching if you're not careful.

Autostolz Alkaline Auto Wash is different. Advanced multi-surfactant chemistry combined with the alkaline builders produces a stable, dense foam with high lubrication — and that changes how the product performs in two important ways.

What you need to know before you use it

This is a professional-strength formula. Used correctly it's straightforward — but there are a few things worth understanding clearly before you reach for it.

It will strip waxes and polymer sealants. That's intentional by design. If you have a vehicle with a wax or sealant protection layer you want to keep, do not use this product.

Ceramic coatings: A single use at normal dilution is unlikely to cause significant damage to a ceramic coating, but repeated use will weaken it over time. This product is not intended for routine maintenance washing on ceramic-coated vehicles. Use a pH-neutral maintenance wash for that.

This is not a routine car wash. Use it when you need to strip, reset, or deep clean — then return to a pH-neutral wash for regular maintenance.

Safety — please read: This is a high alkaline formula (pH ~11–13). It is corrosive to metals and causes severe skin burns and eye damage. Always wear protective gloves and eye protection. Do not breathe mist. Do not use on hot surfaces or allow to dry on any surface. Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, rinse mouth and do not induce vomiting — seek medical advice immediately. Directions

Do not use on hot surfaces. Do not allow product to dry on the surface. Shake well before use. Add 30–90ml per 17L bucket or 1L foam cannon (1–3 oz per 5-gallon bucket or standard 34oz foam cannon). Apply with a foam cannon, foam gun, or bucket wash. For pre-wash use, apply foam and allow to dwell before rinsing — do not touch the surface with a mitt until after rinsing. Wash in straight lines using a soft wash mitt. Rinse thoroughly after washing. Use on cool surfaces only — surface temperature should not exceed 30°C (86°F). Avoid direct sunlight. Always test on a small, inconspicuous area first. Do not allow to freeze.
