High end paste waxes should be applied by hand, and buffed off by hand to a high shine.  These waxes are pastes, they are easy to apply, but not as easy as a spray wax or liquid wax or sealant.  They typically last around 6 months depending on application and environment.  They are popular on special collectors cars.  

Chemical Guys Waxes:

Chemical Guys have 4 main paste waxes, Lava is great on all colours but especially on bright colours like red, orange, blue, yellow, purple etc.  While Black and White are optimised for black and while cars respectively.  Pete's 53 is a special wax released by Chemical guys in memory of a team member Pete.
