Suitable For Beginners And Professionals
One thing we've learned over the years is that machine polishing isn't nearly as difficult as many people think.
The RockCar 15mm is used by professional detailers, but it's equally suitable for enthusiasts who want to achieve professional-looking results on their own vehicles.
In fact, many of the features that professionals appreciate are the same features that help beginners.
The smooth operation, balanced design, vibration isolation system, flexible backing plate and dual action random orbital movement all help make the machine easier and more forgiving to use.
A good polishing machine doesn't make polishing harder. It makes polishing easier.
Whether you're correcting paint every day or polishing your pride and joy a few times a year, the RockCar 15mm is designed to help you achieve great results with confidence.

Why We Chose To Stock It
We get approached regularly by polishing machine manufacturers wanting us to stock their products.
The reality is we're very selective.
Most of our customers are repeat customers and many have been buying from us for years. We don't want to risk that trust by selling machines we don't genuinely believe in.
A poor-quality machine doesn't just create frustration for the customer. It creates warranty claims, downtime, repairs and disappointment. Nobody wins.
We're a small team and we'd rather spend our time helping customers achieve great results than dealing with preventable problems.
When our previous polishing machine was discontinued, we spent considerable time looking for a replacement.
We tested a range of alternatives and compared everything from performance and comfort through to cooling, vibration control and internal construction.
Some machines performed well but came with a price tag that put them out of reach for many enthusiasts. Others looked similar on the outside but didn't meet the standards we were looking for.
Rather than relying solely on specifications and marketing claims, Adam pulled machines apart so we could inspect the internal components and see what was actually inside.
The internal photos throughout this page are from a RockCar 15mm that was disassembled during that evaluation process.
What stood out to us was the attention to detail: steel gears, a steel counterweight, quality lubrication, a pure copper motor, extensive cooling design and thoughtful vibration isolation.
The result is a machine we're happy to recommend and happy to stand behind.

Fast Correction Without Sacrificing Control
The RockCar uses a 15mm throw paired with a 125mm (5") backing plate.
After testing a range of machines, we found this combination strikes an excellent balance. Larger throws can become more difficult to control around tighter curves and body lines, while smaller throws take longer to cover the same area.
For most cars, SUVs and utes, the 15mm throw provides fast correction while remaining comfortable and easy to control.
The powerful 900W motor provides plenty of power while the dual action random orbital design helps minimise the risk of holograms, excessive heat build-up and paint damage.
Built To Last
Many polishing machines look similar from the outside, but the internal components are where the real differences often appear.
The RockCar uses steel drive gears, a steel counterweight and a robust drive assembly designed for durability and long service life.
During disassembly we also found generous lubrication throughout the gearbox and drive components, helping reduce wear and maintain smooth operation.
The motor uses pure copper windings rather than cheaper alternatives. Copper conducts electricity efficiently and contributes to strong performance and durability.

Comfortable To Use
Long polishing sessions can be physically demanding, particularly when using machines that transfer vibration directly into your hands and arms.
One thing that stood out to us when using the RockCar was how smooth it felt compared with many machines we had tested.
Most polishers mount the front grip directly to the machine housing. While the grip itself may be rubber, vibration still transfers through the housing into your hands.
The RockCar uses a dedicated rubber vibration isolation damper between the front grip and machine housing. This helps absorb vibration before it reaches your hand, resulting in a noticeably smoother and more comfortable polishing experience.
Combined with the balanced steel counterweight and carefully engineered drive system, it makes the machine far more pleasant to use during longer correction jobs.

The controls have also been thoughtfully designed.
The speed dial sits naturally under your thumb, while the progressive trigger and trigger lock can be operated without changing your grip or interrupting your work.
It feels intuitive from the moment you pick it up.

Engineered To Stay Cool
Heat is the enemy of polishing machines, polishing pads, backing plates and paint surfaces.
One area where the RockCar really impressed us was its cooling design.
The machine incorporates a dedicated cooling fan, large airflow channels, multiple cooling vents and a ventilated backing plate designed to encourage airflow throughout the machine.

During our comparison testing, one thing that stood out was the size of the cooling channels used throughout the machine.
Large airflow passages help move air through the machine and carry heat away from critical components.

The backing plate itself features ventilation holes and integrated cooling channels that pass right through the structure of the backing plate.
As the machine operates, these channels help move air through the backing plate and machine housing while allowing heat to escape from the pad area.

This attention to airflow helps manage operating temperatures and contributes to long-term reliability.
Flexible Backing Plate
Vehicle panels are rarely flat.
The RockCar uses a flexible backing plate that allows the polishing pad to better follow curved surfaces and body contours.
This helps maintain more consistent pad contact while improving control and reducing the tendency for the edge of the pad to dig into the paint.

Ready For New Zealand
The RockCar 15mm is supplied with a NZ/AU plug and is designed for 240V operation.
While this might sound obvious, many machines sold online are designed for overseas markets and arrive requiring adapters or voltage converters.
The RockCar arrives ready to plug in and use.
It also includes a quality 2.9 metre power cord, giving plenty of reach when working around a vehicle.

Warranty & Support That Makes Sense
A polishing machine is a tool. For many enthusiasts it's an important investment, and for professional detailers it's something they rely on to earn a living.
If a machine develops a genuine warranty fault, we'll work with you to get the issue resolved as quickly as possible.
For professional detailers, we will often provide a loan machine while yours is being assessed or repaired so you can keep working.
We understand that a polisher isn't much use when it's sitting in a repair queue.
Our goal is simple: keep you polishing, not waiting.
Designed For Long-Term Ownership
The RockCar uses auto shut-off carbon brushes designed to help protect the motor when the brushes eventually wear.
An additional set of replacement carbon brushes is included with the machine to support long-term maintenance and ownership.
