Coatings for Shine and Protection (Waxes, Ceramics, etc)

The secret to cleaning your car fast (and to have it looking good!) is layers of protection.  Paint is porous and dirt etc. gets into the pores and can be hard to wash off.  Plotting a wax, sealant or ceramic over the top will make the surface smoother and shinier.  Dirt will still land on your car, but it will be a lot easier to clean off.  In the case of a wax or sealant, the layer is a sacrificial layer, that can be removed and reapplied if necessary.  Ceramics can last longer and cannot easily be removed.  Some of the new wax/sealant technology is starting to get very impressive, Autostolz just launched it's understanded "Enhanced Wax" that has mazing shine and water beading.  Its our new favorite on our cars, so we have relaunched our popular easy shine kits with this new coating.

Applying a Glaze before a wax or sealant is a great way to quickly and easily add shine and pop, and hide minor imperfections like light swirls and scratches.  Like "Makeup for cars", the scratches are still there, but they are much harder to see.  Its a great but temporary trick.  the proper fix for scratches and paint defects is to machine polish, you can visit our machine polishing section here.
