Ultimate Black Car Kit

Black cars look amazing, but they can be hard to keep clean, and you see everything!  Adam has a black car and has a real love hate relationship with it, when clean it looks amazing, but it shows everything.  This kit is out pick of products to make your black car not only look better but be easier to clean as well!

This is the best kit to make your back car look good and make it easier to keep clean without machine polishing.

We recommend claying the car first for best results.  Claying pulls contaminates from the paints pores so that these products can bond better and last longer.  We have a range of clays from ValetPro Uk and Chemical Guys, This is a good clay kit, on a new car light clay, otherwise medium is normally the best.  heavy for Bady contaminated cars. 

First (after cleaning and claying), apply the blacklight glaze.  Adam calls this "makeup for cars".  It fills light fine swirls temporarily, and adds shine and gloss.   The scratches are stil there, if you want to properly remove them you need to machine polish them (this is the best one step polishing kit). 

Blackight doesn't remove scratches, they are still there, but it makes them harder to see, like makeup.  It is cheating?  yes.  But it works.  

Apply the Chemical Guys BlackLight glaze to all the black painted areas of the car with one of the included rockcar show starter applicators, apply on cool paint in the shade, leave to haze for 20 minutes and buff odd by hand with the included rockcar roadie microfiber cloths.  These are super high-quality applicators and microfiber cloths, made in Korea, a real 70:30 blend., no corners, no tags, no stickers, just high-quality cloth.  Use the cloths flat folded into 4, the weave on the rockcar roadie is designed to safely grab and hold glazes and waxes etc, so it makes the buffing off much easier and quicker, which is why we chose these cloths for the kit.    After a while the microfiber cloth will go from removing efficiently to removing less and smearing around, this means the cloth side is quite full of removed product, flip to a fresh side.  Don't bunch up the cloth, keep it flat the size of your hand, this way you get maximum surface area, and you get 8 sides per cloth (2 sides x folded into 4).  The kit includes 2 rockcar show starter applicators and 2x 2packs or the rockcar roadie cloths (4 cloths), if you want to make the job easier and faster get more of the same cloth here, more cloths make it easier, but you can get it done with the 4 cloths in the kit.  

Blacklight is probably our favorite of the Chemical Guys products, they do say that is also contains sealant but not enough in our opinion for it to last as long as we'd like.  So next up you put a layer of the Autostolz Enhanced Wax.  Same process, but you don't have to wait 20 minutes, basically by the time you have applied it you can go back to where you started and start buffing off.  Use a clean applicator and clean microfiber cloths.  Again the kit has enough cloths to get the job done but you can get more of the same cloth here, more cloths make it easier.

Autostolz Enhanced Wax is technically a sealant.  It contains high grade natural carnauba wax for add shine and water beading, but has also been engineered to last typically 9 months.  It's a seriously good product.  Easy to use and adds great shine and water beading.  

The Autostolz Enhanced Wax can be used also on glass, clear plastic (not black trim or rubber), and smooth metal like trim.  With the Chemical guys blacklight you applied it just to the painted areas; with the Autostolz enhanced spray wax apply it also to the windows, headlights, tail lights, and clear plastic, and shiny chrome trim, mag wheels, etc.  Just avoid or tap off any black plastic or rubber trim.

Now your black car will look much shinier and water will bead off it.  This is so easy and the results, wow.  And you do it all by hand.  Put some music on and enjoy it.  

To keep it looking good you also get a bottle of the Autostolz Premium SiO2 car wash, and the Autostolz Enhanced Spray Wax with SiO2.  SiO2 is what is used to make ceramic coatings.

These products are amazing.  The Autostolz Premium Auto Wash is our top selling car wish by miles, is doesn't foam up so when you first use it you think it looks like flat beer, how can this do much, but wow!  It adds amazing shine and gloss, and when you hose it off you get water beading from just the car wash soap!  Its great by itself but as a wash when you have applied the Chemical Guys Blacklight Glaze and the Autostolz Enhanced Wax, waw.  Its great on all coloured cars, but on black you really appreciate it!  We have a lot of soaps, and we use and test them all, but this is the one we use ourselves at home, the one we give to family for Christmas, its an amazing car wash soap.

The Autostolz Enhanced SiO2 Spray wax is different to the Autostolz Enhanced Wax you put on earlier.  Yes, it's in a spray, but the chemistry is also quite different.  This is not your normal spray wax.  Its super easy to use.  Tends not to streak and somehow doesn't stain rubber or plastics, in fact you can use it on rubber and plastic.  Most waxes discolor them, this enhances them.  You can use it on a dry or wet car, so you can use it as a spray and wipe to adds more shine and protection, or you can spray it over your wet car after washing and buff it off as you dry!  This gives great shine and is an amazing time saver.   We keep a bottle of this in each of our cars and there are about 3 bottles I can see on desks in the office, it's a go to for us to give anything a quick clean and shine.  It adds great shine and water beading, it's also a great topper not just for this but is also used for ceramic coated cars.  

Note, the colour of the microfiber cloths and applicators may change to keep the kit available if that colour is temporarily out of stock.

Other things you might need if you have a black car.

We highly recommend washing with 2 buckets and either mitt slides or dirt traps in the bottom to reduce scratching.

The best lowest scratch risk wash mitt is the fireball Wash Mitt (or wash pad version).

The best drying towel for both drying fast and lowest scratch risk by far is the Rockcar Performer drying towel.  It's all we use at home now.

We'd also recommend adding a prewash to your wash process.  Our pick is the Rockcar Stealth with the Fireball Snow Foam or Pre Wash.  There is a new snow foam coming from Autostolz soon that we are very excited about.
